Breckenridge Gondola

Breckenridge Gondola Rides

The BreckConnect Gondola is a favorite to skiers and visitors alike and provides access to the ski resort from the town of Breckenridge. The BreckConnect carries up to 8 passengers in each cabin and covers almost 400 feet of vertical rise and 7,600 feet in around 13 minutes. At Colorado Rocky Mountain Resorts, we are happy to offer a great selection of Breckenridge vacation rentals near the gondola, for easy access to activities and sight-seeing.

Operating since 2006, the Breckenridge Gondola transports passengers to the base of Peak 8. The ride offers beautiful views of the town and resort during the winter and summer months. Views of the Tenmile Range and the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve are plentiful while riding up.

BreckConnect Gondola Information

It is completely FREE to ride the gondola up and down, but once on the slopes, a ski pass or scenic chair lift ride ticket is required. Feel free to bring your leashed dog on the gondola as there are many hiking trails around the resort. The gondola does carry bikes up as well, but there is a fee.

Guests who want to stay at the Peak 8 Base past gondola operating hours can catch a ride down on the Black Route on the Breck Free Ride Shuttle that picks up just below the gondola on Ski Hill Road. The Shuttle runs year-round and is a great alternative to getting into town at the end of a day on the slopes if the gondola line is long.

When driving into the North end of Breckenridge, drive South down Main Street and take a right onto French Street, and the gondola station will be on your right-hand side. 170 Watson Avenue, Breckenridge, CO 80424.
The North Gondola and South Gondola lots are paid parking year-round. The F Lot is also nearby the gondola. Guests who purchase tickets for Epic Discovery can get parking validated. For free parking, the Breckenridge Satellite lot holds 500 spots and there is a shuttle that takes passengers from the Satellite Lot straight to the gondola.
Once aboard the gondola, there are three stations to unboard at along the way. The first is for Shock Hill guests and residents only. The second is to Peak 7 where skiers can hop on the Independence Chair. The last stop is the Peak 8 base area restaurants, chair lifts, and Epic Discovery (summer only).
Though it is free to ride the gondola, lift tickets must be purchased to ski and mountain bike (uphill lift use). Lift tickets can be purchased at the ticket office at the base of the gondola as well as Peak 7, Peak 8, and Peak 9 base areas.
  • The gondola closes September 9th, 2019 and will reopen for ski season November 8th, 2019
