Transportation to Breckenridge

There are many options to get to Breckenridge. Airlines fly into Denver International Airport, and ground transportation options range from ride shares, shuttles, rental cars and buses to take you up the I-70 corridor to the mountains of Summit County, Colorado.

Denver International Airport is the largest airport which is 90 miles east of Summit County. Eagle County Regional Airport is another option which is 65 miles west of Summit County near Vail, Colorado. If you are planning to drive a rental car, we highly recommend that as you book your flights to Colorado you also reserve your vehicle ahead of time as it is often difficult to find a rental car on arrival.
If you are considering driving be sure you are prepared for winter conditions in the mountains. During the winter, CDOT issues chain laws which require all vehicles to have 4WD, AWD and/or snow tires or chains when the chain law is in effect. Plan to leave early when going to or from the airport as driving conditions in the area can change at any time and traffic is common. One parking space is typical for most condos.
Rental car services are a good option for travel to this location. There are also airport shuttle services that will bring you door to door. Once you get to Breckenridge it is extremely walkable and has a good free bus transportation system. If you are looking to explore other towns or day trip excursions, a car is recommended.

There are many airport shuttle services available. Choose from a shared group shuttle or a private shuttle. These companies will bring you to and from the airport and transport you in style with comfortable seats, wifi, and bottled water.

When you arrive to Breckenridge, there are free bus transportation systems to get you around town. The Breckenridge Free Ride is the local Breckenridge free bus system that will get you to and from the slopes and around town. There is also a trolley that runs up and down Main St and picks up every 10 or so minutes. The Summit Stage Bus System will bring you to Frisco, Keystone, Copper, and Arapahoe Basin. This is another free transportation service!

Uber and Lyft are available in the area for a night on the town or transfer to the lifts. We do not recommend relying on these ride services to transport you to and from the airport.
