Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado is located just 7 miles down I-70 West from Frisco on the opposite side of the Tenmile Range. The resort has 2,765 acres of in-bounds skiing. Once you arrive at Copper, you can park your car and use the free shuttle to access the village area. East, Center, and West villages break up the resort and can be used to easily navigate the area.

  • East Village contains mostly condominium complexes and has access to mostly Black Diamond/Expert terrain.
  • Center Village is the main base area with shops, restaurants, ice skating rink, rentals, and Camp Hale and the terrain above it accessed by American Eagle and American Flyer which is mostly Blue/Intermediate and some Green/Beginner terrain. The superpipe is located in between the Eagle and Flyer lifts and events such as USASA and U.S. Grand Prix can be seen from Center Village.
  • West Village contains mostly Green terrain and also has access to the terrain parks for all levels and the Woodward Central Park accessed via the Union Creek chairlift.

For advanced riders, take the complimentary Tucker Mountain Snowcat up to the West Ridge or Copper Bowl which can be accessed above the base of Mountain Chief chairlift.

Ski & Snowboard School

Copper Mountain offers many different types of lessons to all ages and ability levels. Avoid the possible frustration of learning to ski or ride from a friend or teaching yourself, and get proper instruction from an expert in a personalized, unintimidating environment. Copper Mountain also offers private lessons for those wanting the most personal instruction or to finetune techniques while exploring the mountain.

  • Adult Lessons:
    Full-Day lessons go from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM and the Half-Day lesson option times are 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Advanced reservations are recommended as availability is not always guaranteed. Lift tickets are not included with the price but can be added on for $50.00. Discounted rental packages are also available. All group lessons meet in West Village.

  • Youth Lessons:
    Let the kids take to the mountain while you enjoy a day out exploring. Lessons are a great way to get kids excited about snowsports and before you know it they’ll be cruising right along with you! Lessons are open to kids ages 3-17 where children will be put into groups based on their skill levels. Lessons go all day and include snacks and lunch (Copper Mountain is a “nut aware” facility and does not have nuts in any of the food or snacks they provide; Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options are available). Children are also welcome to bring their own snacks and lunch that can be refrigerated at the Schoolhouse in West Village. A lift ticket is included for ages 3-5 but can be added to a 6-17 group lesson for $25.00. Lessons run for a full day from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM. A 1:00 PM pickup option is available, but full day price still applies.

    For those interested in receiving more customized instruction, private lessons are available at Copper Mountain.

  • Woodward Lessons & Programs
    Take your park skill to the next level by joining a Woodward lesson. Skiers and riders must be able to ride on blue/intermediate terrain, but no prior park or pipe experience is required as freestyle coaching is available for all abilities. Lessons go from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM for ages 6-17. Lesson price includes on-hill instruction plus indoor training at the Woodward Copper Barn. A lift ticket is not included with the price of the lesson but can be added onto 6-17 Woodward lessons for $25. Snacks and lunch provided, and discounted rental packages available.
    • 6-17 Ride With Woodward: Starting at $239.00
      • Woodward Check-in Procedure:
        • Check in to get your rental equipment and lesson tickets between 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM the day before your lesson at Copper Sports in Center Village, or beginning at 8:00 AM in West Village.
        • If you do not need rental equipment, you may pick up your lesson tickets on the morning of your lesson at the Will Call desk inside the schoolhouse in West Village. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your lesson to pick up your lesson tickets.
        • Meet on-snow at the lesson flags outside of the Schoolhouse in West Village
